Received a comment yesterday that I published, but now I can't find it anywhere to reply to, so I'm making a whole post about 'em!

In answer to whoever asked the question about colored contacts: YES, we sell a whole bunch of them! Normal colors like green, blue, gray, brown, and violet are $25 a pair. Halloween and Custom contacts are either $60 or $75 depending on which style you choose. We have a whole bevy of weird ones, like Pink/Green/Blue Rave, which glow under a blacklight, Zombie and Vampire Red, Black and White Out, and Blind colors as well (sold individually). Call to inquire about a specific style, or come in and check them out - we just got a new shipment in last week!

We won't always have all of these colors or styles in at any given time (no guarantees, sorry!) but we've got a great selection, so come on down!

If you've never been in Huntington Beach for the 4th of July, you've never experienced complete and utter chaos. Starting at roughly 9 in the morning, the streets were jam-packed with a trillion people on bikes, in addition to people who had begun their alcohol consumption very early. Electric Chair workers needed to use machetes and plows to get through the crowd to the door. It's true. The store was not featured in the Main Street parade, but we did have SkullBlaster ads nearly everywhere...anywho, feast your eyeballs upon these images!

The last few days of September slowly tick away, like sands through an hourglass, so our the days of our lives... you know what that means, right? It's almost freakin' ROCKtober! Halloween is right around the corner along with like a million gazillion awesomly amazing music events. You don't want to look like a frump when your cruising to the Mad Monster Party on the 25th at the Knitting Factory (a Horror punk, Psychobilly music event featuring the Koffin Kats, Calabrese, the Stellar Corpses, and many more - tickets available here at Electric Chair on October 1st) or Monster Massive (tickets available now and going fast). So give responsibility the finger, blow those bills off for another week or two, and come pick up a pair of Doc Martens or Grinders, some Lucky 13 gear, a CD or two and actually enjoy that paycheck money. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy...

Woah, so has your crazy dye job been fading fast like those steamy summer nights? Summer loving sure was a blast? Need a touch up job, like STAT? Well, we just got in a new shipment of Special Effects hair-dye! Semi-permanent enough to thoroughly piss off your parents but not quite enough that you'll be shacking up in that tree house you built back in fifth grade. Taste of New Zealand in HB

Hopefully all you locals in Huntington Beach got a chance this past weekend to observe the Taste of New Zealand event. It was awesome!! And for those of you who didn't, don't worry -- we've got ya covered. Electric Chair participated in the Fashion Show that went on downtown, along with other fellow downtown retail stores like American Apparel, H.S.S., and several others. The event was hosted by a DJ while the models walked down the runway in different outfits showcasing each store. I hate to brag, but the Electric Chair's outfits were by far the most eclectic! We will have photos up for you soon enough on the blog, as well as on our myspace -- so just be patient!
While many of the events and vendors that were going on during Saturday and Sunday were all very exciting, the Fashion Show seemed to draw the biggest crowd. And guess what?
Right after it was over, people kept flocking into The Electric Chair to see what all the hoop-la was about! Let this be proof that you don't have to be any certain type of person to find something in the Electric Chair store, or even online. Some of the customers were buying the exact outfits that were seen on the models during the show, while other curious shoppers found things they liked even better!
So whether it's the hot new Sailor outfit you are searching for desperately for Halloween, a new piercing to freak your parents out since the holidays are approaching, or maybe something from one of our more popular women lines, B.B. Dakota.

True story... I walk into work this morning and POW! Men's costumes! Everywhere! Inmates, S.W.A.T. teams, NASA (personal favorite, fyi). No reason to go with the ol' dick in the box costume this year, guys... Seriously, there is so much cool stuff that I almost wish I was a guy! That, and the convenience of peeing standing up... Fulfill all your childhood ambitions that were never based in reality! Who didn't want to rescue the pretty princess like Mario? or to plunder and pillage like a pirate (how'd ya like that alliteration!)? or give your little sister nightmares for weeks like Freddy Kruger? We have all this and more, much more, all at the Electric Chair. Most of the stuff isn't up on our website yet so you're gonna have to put your video game on pause and get off your couch to come check it out in actual reality. Did I mention you can try on costumes? No more guesstimating what size you think you should be! Try it on and then black out the size later if its giving you anxiety! Plus crazy accessories up the wazoo! (Does anyone actually know what a wazoo is?) And if you haven't heard guys, accessories make the outfit... wigs! fake mustaches! stuffed parrots! fake chest hair!! Why wait for Halloween to rock this stuff! Come on down and visit us at Electric Chair...where everyday is Halloween (or at least it has been recently...)!

Ok, guys. There's only 7 weeks left 'til Halloween. That's 52 days! 1248 hours! Basically minutes to go!! So, that means that it is time to set the alarm on your cell phone and hop the express train down here to the E. Chair! We are in the process of transforming our precious Huntington Beach location into a spooktacular wonderland filled with anything your heart could desire. Sexy Ruby Slippers? Check! Vinyl Catsuit? Double check! Doggie Elvis costume? Yup! Seriously, people- do you think I could make something like that up? Wait, did you know we carry colored contacts? All the traditional ones PLUS crazy colors and designs especially for Halloween. And we have nifty glow in the dark/blacklight ones for you ravers! RAD!

Hey, remember the 90's? Flannel shirts, unwashed hair, Doc Marten's? Mmm, those were the days... Aw, man. Life's so rad. I'm so glad we are all back together and stuff. Did you hear about the party after the show? Well, our good friends over in England have decided to start making a line of their classic footwear back on their home turf! English-made Doc's are back and ready to stomp on your face or the face of your arch nemesis. And guess where you can buy them... HERE! AT ELECTRIC CHAIR! WOO!

So, I don't know if anyone told you this... but our Halloween section in the Electric Chair store is big! Not only that, it appears to be getting even bigger! Today we received some new costumes from one of our more popular costume brands, Dreamgirl. Among them, we received the "Cruise Cutie", "Sin City Show Girl", and of course a very popular seller, the Corrections Officer that is also available for purchase on ourwebsite. Keep checking back for updates on our website, and we just might have more costumes available. But until then, remember that our store has vast quantities of not only Dreamgirl costumes, but also Leg Avenue, Rubies, and many smaller brands. If you don't want to end up wearing the same costume as last year (and who does?!) or even show up to a party wearing the same costume as someone else (embarrassing!) then my only suggestion is come check us out in Huntington Beach.

Well, it's August and Halloween is already in full swing here at the Electric Chair. Who'd have thunk it?? Seriously, everything you could ever think you might potentially one day for some random insane reason have a use for. We have it!
